ABOUT THE REPORTS
Tower Inspection Reports
The annual tower structure inspection is conducted by an independent structural engineering service to identify any areas needing maintenance.
RF Antenna Exposure Reports
Exposure to RF (radio frequency) radiation is required to fall below a maximum level established as safe by the Federal Communications Commission. Exposure levels in publicly accessible areas surrounding Sutro Tower are measured by an independent professional engineering consultant upon activation of any DTV antenna or upon any increase of power by a DTV antenna or at least every 3 years.

AGREEMENT BETWEEN SUTRO TOWER, INC.
AND NEIGHBORHOOD GROUPS
During the process of obtaining permits for the DTV Conversion Project three neighborhood associations surrounding Sutro Tower indicated their concern that information about the operation of the tower is not easily available to residents. They also identified some improvements to the neighborhood were not being addressed due to lack of funds. These groups and Sutro Tower, Inc. agreed to address these concerns and the resulting document was prepared and presented to the San Francisco Planning Commission at the project approval hearing and incorporated in the Commission’s action to approve the project.
